President’s Message….
Hello Everyone—I would like to welcome you back to yet another wonderful MVAC year. We have had a nice break since our winter holidays so I hope you are ready for our upcoming events. We had a great year in 2011 and I hope 2012 will be just as great! This year we will again focus on attracting new members to our committee. Our student members are ready to get involved and many of our members have already given some terrific ideas to the new board. See you at the 02/07/2012 meeting.

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE
In the name of love the February MVAC meeting (which was scheduled for the 14th) has been moved to the first Tuesday, February 7th at 7:30 PM.

A new Board of Officers was elected at the January meeting. Congratulations to:

A heartfelt THANK YOU to each of YOU for serving our community!

Sad News…….Florence Savage, a longtime MVAC volunteer died quietly in her sleep on Saturday, January 21st. Flo will be remembered by all for her quick smile and her willingness to help. We are blessed to been called her friends.

SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 2012, 10 AM - 2 PM

This fun event will include professional kite flyers, disc dog shows, various flying contests, nonprofit food booths, children’s crafts, exhibitors, and entertainment. The new annual Up in the Air event will continue to build new traditions for Mission Viejo and the community. This event will also share its success with local nonprofits, furthering their success and purpose within the community. Visit the Up in the Air website for more information.

JOIN MVAC
Any resident or business person within the city of Mission Viejo or the surrounding area is welcome to join and participate. There are no dues or fees. You will be welcomed and informed of the many opportunities to put your talents to work making this a better and more enjoyable community. All members who complete service on any major project receive an attractive and distinctive Mission Viejo Activities Committee jacket to wear at all official functions.

The Mission Viejo Activities Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. Meetings begin a 7:30 pm and last approximately 90 minutes.
